Living at Home and Living away From Home

Would you like to live at home or live away from home? I think most of college students must choose to live away from home because this is the chance for them to run away from parents’ control. But for parents, if it is possible, they would like to let their children live at home. To live at home is totally different from to live away from home.
One of the differences is ‘freedom’. If you live at home, there is less freedom. For example, you need your parents’ permission if you want to hang out with friends till midnight. And most of time the answer is NO. However, if you live in your own apartment, you can go anywhere with friends at anytime without asking your parents. You are free because you are out of your parents’ control. Of course you must discipline yourself very well.
The other difference is that living away from home would help you learn how to be independent. You have to take care of yourself and you need to organize everything in you own life. There is no one you can rely on except yourself and this would make you become independent. However, if you live at home, everything is prepared for you. There are always foods, neat room, washed and ironed clothes and so on. You would always be the one who cannot live independently.
To live at home or to live away from home have both positive and negative attitudes. As long as you know how to make yourself live better, to decide whether live at home or away from is not a big deal for you.
